Requirements

  • 5+ years as a process engineer or related experience
  • Working knowledge of all safety absolutes and policies (i.e. lockout, ESWP, etc.)
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Demonstrated basic understanding of mechanical and electrical concepts involving machine designs and process requirements involved in the manufacturing process

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment
  • Responsible for the manufacturing processes and equipment for General Assembly
  • Develop and implement sufficiency plans and continuous improvement activities to meet specific uptime, tool cost, quality, and maintainability objectives
  • Responsible for all documentation of the process including Process Control Plans, Tool and Equipment Bulletins, PFMEAs, and other equipment documentation including standardized work (TISs and more)
  • Work with and support Maintenance activities, resolving equipment issues resulting in downtime of the equipment, tooling, and gages
  • Work with Manufacturing and Quality department in problem solving customer issues and developing short term corrective actions as well as long term irreversible solutions
  • Manage process-related projects including installation of new or replacement equipment, continuous improvement initiatives, and periodic repair and refurbishment
  • Implement projects including estimating, project budget management and forecasting, development of timelines and equipment qualification
  • Investigate equipment problems and provide technical input for problem resolution
  • Occasionally lead maintenance skilled trades team and supervise skilled trades to cover maintenance supervisor absence
  • Occasionally work weekends
  • Maintain proficiency in their field
  • Support TIP (throughput improvement process), GMS (global manufacturing systems) and BIQ4 (built in quality) initiatives
  • Utilize statistical methods for continuous improvement of plant process systems
  • Enforce safe work practices as the highest priority and implement objectives for improved ergonomics, Health/safety, and housekeeping
  • High level of interpersonal skills with sensitivity to other's points of view, make contributions to the resolution of complex manufacturing problems, and interface with support functions outside the plant as required
  • Maintain compliance with all Process Control Plans, Tool and Equipment bulletins relevant to all General Assembly Equipment and Processes; Maintain all required Maximo tasking and data collection relevant to these items
  • Maintain Error Proofing List and ensure all new or modified error proofing has passed User Acceptance Testing (UAT) requirements
  • Track any Maintenance related DRR losses and drive solution with breakpoints and countermeasures
