The ideal candidate must be a native Japanese speaker with C1+ level English proficiency and 1-3 years of experience in subtitling, translation, dubbing translation/dubbing script creation, quality control, or another integral part of the localization process. They should possess a passion for their native language and culture, including expert knowledge of lingo, slang, cultural references, and sensitivities, and be comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
As a Japanese Subtitler, the responsibilities include creating subtitles in Japanese, ensuring linguistic accuracy, cultural appropriateness, and compliance with language rules; receiving feedback from the Language Coordinator and effectively implementing it into revised subtitles; meeting tight deadlines while subtitling multiple projects and responding to Language Coordinators’ QC feedback within 24 hours; assisting in creating localized metadata for regional audiences; maintaining clear and timely communication with the Language Coordinator, studio partners, and CG Leadership; and building familiarity with the Beast brand. Additionally, the role involves coordinating localization tasks and auxiliary translating of materials such as video titles and descriptions.
