Candidates must be a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker with C1+ level English proficiency, possessing 1-3 years of experience in subtitling, translation, dubbing translation/dubbing script creation, quality control, or another integral part of the localization process. A passion for their native language and culture, including expert knowledge of lingo, slang, cultural references, and sensitivities, is also required.
Responsibilities
As a Freelance Subtitler, the individual will be responsible for creating, editing, and delivering Brazilian Portuguese subtitles for MrBeast YouTube videos, handling all steps of the subtitling process and ensuring prompt delivery to the Language Coordinator. They will also provide feedback on revised subtitles, assist in creating localized metadata, maintain clear communication with collaborators, and build familiarity with the Beast brand. Additionally, they will coordinate localization tasks, auxiliary translate materials such as video titles and descriptions, and standardize localized deliverables within the dubbing process.
