Candidates must have 5+ years of in-country localization tester experience, native speaker fluency in the target language (preferred Japanese), proficiency in written and spoken English, and the ability to type both source and target languages on the keyboard. They should be highly organized with attention to detail and a commitment to quality, and possess experience with testing frameworks, tools, and methodologies such as Selenium. Familiarity with Translation Management Systems (e.g., Smartling, GlobalLink, SDLX) and Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress, Contentful) is required, along with experience tracking, analyzing, reporting on bugs, and managing multiple projects.
As the Bilingual Localization Specialist, the individual will manage the lifecycle of localization production and testing for product and localized web pages, including requirement gathering, setting up test environments, creating test plans and test cases, and managing the QA process to ensure product passes all required tests. They will work with ticketing tools to manage linguistic issues, make linguistic updates in TM, partner with marketing and product content writers, and collaborate with UI/UX engineers to resolve localization-related problems. The role also involves managing workload in a fast-paced, remote environment, some travel for project offsites, and ensuring high-quality localized products for each target locale.
