This role involves translating website copy from English into German, ensuring linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and brand consistency. The ideal candidate will possess native-level German fluency, strong writing skills, and a keen eye for cultural nuance to ensure translations read naturally and align with brand tone and voice. This is an ongoing, part-time freelance opportunity, initially focused on translation with potential for original content writing in the future.

Responsibilities

• Translate website content from English to German, ensuring linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and brand consistency.
• Adapt tone and style for different audiences and content types.
• Collaborate with marketing, SEO, and project management teams to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

Skills & Requirements

• Native-level German proficiency, with excellent grammar and writing skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• 1-3 years of professional writing experience.
• Proven experience in writing and translation (portfolio or samples required).
• A bachelor's or more advanced degree.
• Excellent writing and editing skills with extreme attention to detail.
• Comprehensive understanding of SEO and best practices for branded writing.
• Strong, efficient research abilities and the ability to quickly learn, understand, and write about complex subjects.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a desire to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-oriented environment.
• A creative approach to client briefs and content marketing goals.
• Strong videoconferencing presence for client meetings.
• A self-starter with the ability to work independently and in collaboration with other team members in a fully remote environment.
• Knowledge of AP (Associated Press) Style is a plus.
