The role requires the ability to distinguish strong candidates across engineering domains like React, Node.js, and Python, as well as business functions such as SQL, Excel, analytics, strategic frameworks, market analysis, and financial modeling. Experience in generating market insights, building talent maps, and operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with a builder's mindset is also necessary. Excellent communication and organizational skills with a bias for action and iteration are expected, along with the capacity for high-volume sourcing, sending over 500 high-signal outbound messages weekly.
As the first dedicated sourcer, you will be responsible for building the talent acquisition engine for both engineering and business roles. Your duties will include acting as a talent scout by researching markets and engaging top candidates to facilitate world-class hires. You will own sourcing across Engineering, Strategy & Ops, GTM, and Finance, driving top-of-funnel pipelines for high-priority roles. This involves finding and engaging top-tier candidates using creative methods across various platforms like GitHub, Stack Overflow, LinkedIn, Slack/Discord/Reddit communities, and AI tools. You will personalize outreach to resonate with candidates, build scalable systems such as talent maps and outreach playbooks, and utilize Ashby and analytics to improve funnel health and identify bottlenecks. Collaboration with hiring managers to refine profiles and test sourcing hypotheses is key, as is providing market intelligence to influence hiring strategies across the business.
