Requirements

  • Capability to coordinate with other departments, including Safety, and conduct investigations

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily work and safety of associates engaged in fleet maintenance and repair
  • Handle labor hours and consumable supplies within budget
  • Monitor work schedules, including extra work days and shifts as needed
  • Administer the proper selection, purchase, and utilization of Company assets for fleet maintenance
  • Coordinate required processes and repairs with appropriate departments
  • Ensure proper scheduling of truck maintenance and repairs, compliance with Company programs, including preventative maintenance and inspections
  • Review fleet maintenance functions and operational/expense reporting; suggest efficiency ideas and cost reductions
  • Conduct daily audits to ensure accurate documentation (work orders, breakdowns, PM logs, inspections, certifications)
  • Oversee parts inventory and issue purchase orders based on anticipated needs
  • Develop and administer fleet services budget, including review of past income/expenses and purchases
  • Inspect budgets and contracts with third-party vendors for efficient operations
  • Assure proper licensing of fleet vehicles and annual inspections
  • Stay current with technical manuals and advancements in company-owned vehicles
  • Preserve associate relations through meetings, communication, morale monitoring, and engagement improvements
  • Train and enforce Company policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with Safety department for training, observations, work methods, accident investigations, and inspections; recommend disciplinary actions
  • Perform staff management functions: selection, development, discipline, performance reviews, terminations
  • Perform duties of supervised associates and related tasks as needed
  • Ensure accurate re-certifications of commercial equipment and compliance with Company/safety rules
