Requirements

  • Typically requires 0 to 2 years of previous professional experience
  • Preferred 1-2 years of experience writing automated test scripts on an agile software team
  • Experience writing Python scripts on Linux
  • Basic understanding of embedded systems
  • Good verbal and written communication and troubleshooting skills
  • Working experience with C in embedded systems is highly desirable
  • Experience with Confluence, Jira and Git applications is a plus
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Deployment tools also a plus
  • Basic understanding of biology/genetics/NGS preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Triage instrument FW issues discovered by other teams, identify gaps in functional testing
  • Work with FW Team to reproduce problems, design and run tests to prove correction
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers to build an automated testing system
  • Work with EE team, software developers, scientists and domain experts in understanding requirements of the firmware and translating test cases into automated test scripts
  • Collaborate with peers to identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Analyze customer field issues and improve Functional test coverage where gaps are identified
  • Provide extensive documentation to satisfy traceability requirements of FDA approved diagnostic instruments
  • Develop test specifications and execute them
  • Provide test results and analysis of test results to the team
  • Write scripts, set up fixtures, set up equipment as needed for testing
