Requirements

  • Experienced accounting and payroll professional
  • Experience operating/auditing payroll processes in a Shared Service Centre in a multi-country corporate environment (advantageous)
  • Strong accounting experience
  • Excellent standard of working in SAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (Excel skills at a demonstrably high standard)
  • Accuracy: Attention to detail to ensure payrolls and accounting are processed correctly and on time
  • Timely Delivery: Ensure all activities are completed to deadlines
  • Customer service: Commitment and focus on customer service, defining and exceeding multiple customer expectations

Responsibilities

  • Administration and auditing of payroll processes, including payroll accounting across several countries
  • Interface with Payroll provider, Gilead HR & Finance to ensure high-quality payroll and accounting service
  • Work with HR and Payroll providers to ensure consistent and accurate flow of information and accurate, timely payroll processing in accordance with local requirements
  • Perform month-end payroll activities: preparing journals, accruals, and Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Lead countries and understand their requirements
  • Ensure sufficient controls are in place and implemented to capture month-on-month changes, with differences reconciled and explained
  • Schedule, participate in, and facilitate payroll-related meetings and presentations
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting to internal and external agencies
  • Prepare employee and payroll tax payments
  • Ensure monthly and yearly local tax payments and compliance requirements are met
  • Create and maintain control DTP documentation, process flows, and procedures
  • Drive efficiencies and process improvements
  • Manage the Payroll ESC ticketing system, ensuring timely responses and appropriate filing
  • Work with external providers on specific payroll treatment for employees (e.g., expatriate and international assignments)
  • Work with internal and external audit to ensure payroll information integrity
  • Provide assistance on project-related activities as required
