Position Overview

Veritas Veterinary Partners is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to join our finance team. As a leading provider of emergency and multi-specialty healthcare services, Veritas operates 14 locations nationwide, serving over 100,000 pets annually. This role is crucial in supporting financial planning, budgeting, and decision-making processes across our network of hospitals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of operations, excellent data analysis skills, and the ability to provide actionable insights to optimize performance and ensure fiscal sustainability. This position reports to the FP&A Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.
  • Assist in developing annual budgets and forecasts for individual facilities and the hospital chain as a whole.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue, cost per procedure, and operational expenses, identifying trends and variances.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses for new equipment purchases, service expansions, or staffing changes in emergency and specialty departments.
  • Collaborate with department heads to evaluate financial impacts of clinical programs and operational initiatives.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain and update financial models to reflect changes in the business.
  • Participate in due diligence and financial modeling for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Prepare presentations for the Board of Directors and senior management team.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist in audits and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local healthcare financial guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Up to 2 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in retail or restaurants.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, or similar software).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
