Requirements

  • Finance professional with background in financial controlling, audit, or management accounting, ideally in Banking, FinTech, or financial services
  • Deep understanding of Statutory GAAP in Australia/New Zealand and IFRS
  • Expertise in financial resources controls and industry-specific regulatory rules
  • Skilled at data analysis, improving controls and internal processes
  • Skilled at managing complex stakeholder groups (e.g., Auditors and Advisors)
  • Experience providing financial analysis to support decisions as a finance business partner
  • Thrives in a flexible environment, working with various teams on projects and ad-hoc requests
  • Self-starter, detail-oriented, and comfortable with uncertainty, able to organise work with minimal guidance
  • Ability to support compliance of Wise Australia's Financial Resources Process and Controls under Financial Accountability Regime (FAR) or other applicable regulations
  • Finance experience in Statutory Reporting (GAAP), Management Reporting (IFRS/US GAAP), Financial Reporting, Process & Controls
  • Based in Sydney, Australia (hybrid role)

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Head of Finance Pacific, other Finance Lead(s), Regional Controllers, and Reporting & Tax teams to ensure financial compliance, including controlling local audits, outsource firms, and financial regulatory relationships
  • Support regional Expansion, Banking, Compliance, Product, & People Teams to ensure new entities, products, legislation are understood and finance is prepared for changes, optimising customer product for growth
  • Work with finance teams (Finance Product team and Group Accounting) to ensure systems, controls, and processes are prepared for local requirements
  • Review monthly and quarterly financials to ensure accuracy of entities
  • Ensure compliance with accounting, regulatory, and tax requirements
  • Contribute as a Finance Business Partner leveraging technical finance skills and Commercial Finance acumen
