Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)
  • Associates degree with a Technical focus and 10 years of related experience in specific industry; or, 12 years of experience in specific industry
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems. Can analyze the problem, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate
  • Extensive travel required (Local, National, International)
  • Competencies: Communications, Customer Focus, Personal Discipline, Safety
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands/fingers, reach, climb/balance, stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl, lift/move >50 pounds, use close/color vision; work in confined spaces and outdoor conditions

Responsibilities

  • Performs expert level break-fix & preventative maintenance, including observing devices, dismantling, examining parts, adjusting, repairing/replacing parts, testing electrical/mechanical systems, reconditioning machine tools
  • Identifies and sources parts, supplies, and repair items; evaluates alternatives to improve cost/reliability
  • Independently performs maintenance per industry standards
  • Works with customer counterparts to optimize maintenance, reliability, and preventative maintenance procedures
  • May setup/operate machining operations (lathe, drill press, grinder, metalworking tools) to make/repair parts; may perform welding
  • Complies with customer codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes
  • Documents work in service reports, management systems, with observations and equipment data
  • Provides assistance to lower level technicians and leadership/project teams; performs expert functions for training/development
  • Troubleshoots/analyzes complex control systems for software/hardware/configuration issues
  • Utilizes advanced maintenance technologies to collect data, observe trends, make recommendations
  • Completes/conducts on-the-job training and technical self-study for career development
  • Follows all safety policies, rules, regulations, instructions; maintains situational awareness, identifies unsafe behaviors/conditions
