Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field (engineering or physics) or equivalent full TEM Electron Microscope education
  • Knowledge of Electron Microscopes
  • 5+ years of service experience in a related scientific, technical, and/or customer-facing role (desired)
  • Excellent judgment in customer relations and leading company resources
  • Strong proficiency in instrument systems technology, including electrical, mechanics, chemistry, and software technology
  • Experience with electronics, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Proficient in English (German preferred)
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 30% depending on place of residence

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installation, servicing, and repair of sophisticated electron microscopy equipment, including TEM Electron Microscope portfolio
  • Investigate and approve quality of equipment
  • Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system (provide on-site training relative to maintenance and basic operation)
  • Serve as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects
  • Conduct on-site installations of the full range of Thermo Fisher Scientific electron microscopy systems and associated options
  • Perform remote and on-site troubleshooting, repair, and installation
  • Keep track and maintain local spare parts inventory
  • Dispatch third-party service providers for on-site work and follow up to ensure problems are resolved to customer satisfaction
  • Actively supervise the status of customer contracts, track and schedule on-site PM visits
  • Ensure all documentation related to service support activity (Field Service Reports, Service Work Orders, Quotes) is completed accurately and submitted on time
