Requirements

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, and OSHA 30 certification within two weeks of hire is required. BICSI Installer 2 Fiber certification is preferred, along with 3+ years of structured cabling installation experience and 1+ year in a fiber splicing role or industry-related construction. Proficiency in single and ribbon fiber splicing, ISP, and OSP projects is necessary, as well as knowledge of EXFO OTDR and OLTS testing and the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and distinguish color codes.

Responsibilities

As a Fiber Splicer, the individual will terminate, splice, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables, including high-count OSP fibers, while following safe work practices and supporting installation activities such as cable routing, labeling, and bonding. They will also maintain organized job sites, proactively addressing hazardous conditions, furcate large strand-count fibers, and perform break fixes, demonstrating a positive attitude, team player, and self-motivated work ethic.
