Candidates should possess 10+ years of experience focused on working for or interfacing with the US government, holding a Bachelor’s degree or higher, and demonstrating a deep understanding of US energy policy, as well as the policies and procedures of executive branch departments and agencies, particularly the Department of Energy, and Congress. They must also have a hunter-mindset, the ability to take ownership of their work, and drive initiatives forward, excelling in creative problem-solving and building relationships, and possess strong writing, communication, and project management skills.
The Federal Affairs Lead will develop and maintain strategic relationships with key senior stakeholders across the US Government’s Executive and Legislative Branches, specifically within the Department of Energy and Department of Defense, identify and pursue relevant US Government initiatives, programs, and partnerships, manage and liaise with lobbyists and consultants, monitor proposed legislation and administrative actions, provide regular briefings to US Government stakeholders, attend events in Washington, DC, and develop grassroots lobbying tactics to support Last Energy’s public policy objectives.
