5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or similar role, with hands-on experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building repairs
Experience coordinating and working with external contractors for maintenance, repairs, and facility projects
Proficient in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and CAD drawings
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with leadership, contractors, and team members
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while ensuring timely completion of maintenance needs
Ability to work in various environmental conditions
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections of building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, emergency systems) to ensure functionality and identify issues
Conduct regular preventive maintenance on mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) to minimize downtime
Maintain and oversee outdoor spaces (parking lots, walkways, landscaping) for upkeep and safety
Collaborate with Safety Manager to monitor cold storage units for temperature regulation and compliance
Coordinate with external contractors for services (groundskeeping, janitorial, equipment repair) to ensure on-schedule, on-budget completion
Provide guidance and instruction to other facilities technicians and temporary labor to ensure safety and efficiency
Assist in oversight of building/facility projects (renovations, repairs, minor construction) for safety and timeliness
Help create and review facility layout plans or CAD drawings for improvement projects
Communicate regularly with company leaders and stakeholders on facilities issues, maintenance, and concerns
Maintain positive relationships with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders for quality work
Be available on-call (evenings, weekends, holidays) for urgent issues like system failures or emergency repairs
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and building regulations; report unsafe conditions
Track maintenance/repair requests, log work, and notify departments of issues/improvements
Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and materials to maintain appropriate stock levels
Prepare routine reports on building maintenance and operational issues for management
Respond promptly to emergencies (plumbing leaks, power outages, HVAC malfunctions) to minimize disruption
Other duties as assigned
