Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience
High school diploma or equivalent (United States), vocational or technical education or certification (all other countries)

Responsibilities

Performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment
Performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding
Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment
Uses hand and power tools
Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment
Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications
Provides technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development
Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems
Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures, and performs detailed mathematical calculations
Suggests and/or makes improvements to optimize work processes
Trains, delegates, and reviews the work of lower level employees
Leads daily operations of a work unit
Ensures project plans and budgets are met
Recommends improvements to test processes and procedures across teams
Performs most complex technical activities and identifies, evaluates, and implements continuous improvements to optimize work processes
Works with supervisor to implement adjustments or enhancements in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness
Communicates with internal contacts, including participating in benchmarking other business units, and obtains/provides technical information on matters of significant importance
Acts as a team leader or coach and assistant to the supervisor/manager
Delegates tasks to other team members and reviews work product and processes
Provides input to people management decisions
