Requirements

  • Advanced blueprint/schematic reading
  • Ability to operate small hand tools (e.g., pliers, screwdrivers, hammer, wrenches, etc.), power tools, and test equipment
  • Advanced math, measuring, and writing skills
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Mechanical/electrical design, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Bilingual
  • 0-2 years of experience in facilities, utilities, and/or related operations engineering field (experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance concepts preferred)
  • Experience working with multi-functional teams
  • Physical: Heavy work (exerting up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, 20 lbs constantly); ability to work with/assemble small objects; good visual acuity; fine motor skills; operate common office equipment
  • Mental: Generate, follow, and explain detailed instructions/inspection/repair procedures; complete detailed documentation accurately; communicate equipment/machine issues; analyze/correct complex machine/equipment issues using independent judgment

Responsibilities

  • Comply with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and Corporate/site policies
  • Stop further processing in the event of encountering non-conforming product condition
  • Plan, inspect, and coordinate on-going repair, preventive maintenance, and facilities-related activities
  • Provide guidance in the development, procurement, construction, and validation of new equipment and/or utilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute rearrangement, relocation, and renovation projects
  • Support Facilities management in the implementation and sustainment of the Reliability program
  • Support assigned programs/projects as directed by the department manager
  • Work from machinery manuals and/or schematics
  • Comply with documentation procedures/requirements
  • Coordinate with outside contractors to ensure cost and time standards are met
  • Train others on reliability, preventive maintenance, and/or safety/regulatory compliance issues
  • Interact with vendors to evaluate, diagnose, and/or repair machinery/equipment and/or processes
  • Negotiate with vendors and/or recommend equipment, products, and/or supplies
  • Support the preventive maintenance automated program
  • Oversee contracted services for housekeeping and pest control programs
  • Support facilities manager with maintenance of building, grounds, equipment, and facilities
  • Ensure projects/services involving contractors follow applicable EHS guidelines
  • Collaborate with peer groups to resolve quality-related issues associated with facilities support
  • Supervisory: Coordinate activities of 1+ Facilities Technicians; provide feedback to supervisors on employee performance; ensure subordinate compliance with company policy and corrective actions; coach and develop technicians
