Requirements

  • 3 months of experience with any employer
  • Completed Lockout/Tagout training required
  • Must be able to perform the Packout Operators Training Checklist (PR26.1) job tasks by the end of the 10-working day trial period

Responsibilities

  • Provides coverage on various machines when the primary operator is away from their station
  • Assists with the setup and breakdown of the production line
  • Performs daily equipment checks to ensure they are working correctly
  • Maintains a safe work environment and adheres to Tyson's policies and procedures
  • Works on rework and cleaning when needed
  • Operates machinery for continuous and efficient production of high-quality flour tortillas
  • Prepares for start-up or shut down of equipment
  • Stops machine to make required adjustments following lockout-tagout policy
  • Maintains good manufacturing practices and personal hygiene
  • Keeps department clean and neat
  • Notifies Supervisor and QC of contamination
  • Operates equipment including: Automated Bagger, Loading Bags, Calibrating machines through basic equipment adjustments, Counter Stacker, Program Count, Parts Change (Inner & Outer Trays), Product Conveyors, Metal Detector Checks, Other Duties/Quality Checks/Plant View, Bag Seals, Package Counts, Packaging Lot Numbers
  • Ensures product specifications are met in accordance with customers' written specifications
  • Adheres to all safety policies and safely operates equipment
  • Enters data into the Plant View system
  • Monitors and reports any wear and tear on equipment
  • Controls the machine speed by anticipating and responding to changes in the speed of product flow
  • Assists the Lead in the stocking line and monitoring the box machine (where applicable)
  • Ensures the product is sealed properly, and all seals are tight
  • Ensures the printer is working correctly, and the correct date is being applied
  • Performs product changeovers as needed
  • Abides by all company policies/procedures, written or verbal
  • Works as a team member toward task accomplishments
  • Performs any other tasks assigned
