Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in institutional sales or business development preferably with pension funds, asset managers and other key players in the Japan market
  • Deep understanding of investment products
  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency
  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders across complex organizations
  • Familiarity with Japan’s financial regulatory environment and market dynamics
  • 2nd Grade Securities Broker Representative License required
  • Proficiency in MS Office and a willingness to learn internal tools like Aladdin

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deepen client relationships with new and existing Japan financial institutional clients
  • Implement business development strategies within Japan institutional business, engaging in senior level dialogue to position BlackRock’s platform in the market
  • Proactively and independently approach prospect clients, originate and monetize business opportunities
  • Provide subject matter expertise at client seminars and roadshows etc.; facilitate client’s portfolios and investments service requirements
  • Localize and foster best practice in client management, in partnership with Client Business team and affiliated groups to manage client’s queries and unique demands
  • Liaise with internal product teams to develop solutions
  • Regularly monitor mandates with portfolio performance at risk and propose defense strategies and follow up with clients proactively
