Requirements

  • Knowledge: Required knowledge of clinical and research applied genetics and genomics.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience with key clinical and research accounts in the Los Angeles, CA area.
  • Sales Experience: 10+ years of proven life science capital sales experience.
  • Collaboration: Success working effectively within a highly collaborative, team setting.
  • Lead Generation: Success with independent lead generation, prospecting, and business development.
  • Sales Approach: Experience in consultative and strategic selling situations.
  • Complex Sales: Success driving complex sales within multi-layered environments.
  • Customer Relationships: Experience winning/growing business and establishing long-term customer relationships.
  • Motivation & Adaptability: Highly motivated with strong drive to deliver exceptional results individually and as part of a team. Success working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to change.
  • Technical Understanding: Foundational understanding of next generation sequencing (NGS) and genotyping.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Territory Sales Plan: Create and implement a territory and account-specific sales plan.
  • Execute Sales Plan: Implement and execute the sales plan to meet assigned sales quotas.
  • Adjust Sales Plan: Adjust the sales plan in accordance with changing company and customer needs.
  • Forecasting & Pipeline Management: Conduct accurate forecasting and sales pipeline management activities.
  • CRM Utilization: Proactively utilize and maintain the CRM database.
  • Customer Presentations: Deliver technical/scientific seminars and presentations on Illumina products/solutions and their capabilities to customers.
  • Product Consultation: Demonstrate the role and relevance of Illumina’s product portfolio and provide consultation to customers.
