Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Create and communicate a vision for designing, conducting, and executing innovative clinical development plans
  • Set the clinical development strategy for assets or indications, including above disease/indication strategy work
  • Directly supervise multiple Clinical Development Leads (who supervise Clinical Trial Physicians)
  • Supervise the development, monitoring, analysis, and interpretation of clinical trials
  • Hold accountability for the clinical components of regulatory filings
  • Contribute to overall strategy for specific diseases/indications while maintaining a franchise portfolio view
  • Provide strategic insights into clinical development plans
  • Lead search and evaluation activities for business development due diligence and advise strategic transactions group
  • Serve as a key member of the Therapeutic Area Clinical Development Leadership Team, chair forums as required, chair departmental Staff Meetings, and represent governance meetings
  • Build a franchise reputation to attract innovators
  • Lead and develop a group of Clinical Development professionals (up to 50 individuals) focused on a specific disease area/indication, ensuring scientific and technical excellence
  • Support GT4/5 and POC transitions with insights into biology, translational elements, and benefit-risk assessments
  • Supervise development of differentiated Clinical Development Physicians for multiple transition assets
  • Support across-portfolio activities, including Protocol Review Committee, Business Development, and Quality/Compliance leadership
  • Report directly to the Head of Clinical Development, deputize as required, and serve as a core member of the executive leadership team
