Candidates must be approved for Skill Bridge or Career Skills internship programs through their respective branch of the military. A working knowledge of electronic warfare and signals intelligence, wave propagation, radar fundamentals, and antenna theory is required. Experience in training operators on difficult topics, working in cross-functional environments, installing, configuring, repairing, and troubleshooting software and systems, and basic networking (IP routing, switching, multicast routing) is necessary. Familiarity with client/server software interaction, web-based application infrastructure, and integration is needed. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, the ability to work independently, and being self-motivated and results-focused are essential. Prior service as an Army NCO, Warrant, or junior Commissioned Officer is required. Experience developing Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), or other process documents, and supporting operational exercises is also required.
Interns will install, configure, and maintain deployed software by working with user organizations to develop, test, and formalize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and TTPs. They will observe and participate in training, develop use cases for electronic support technology, and work with customers to define desired end-states and solutions. Responsibilities include providing system maintenance and administrative functions such as system configuration, modifications, workflow analysis, and software test and evaluation. Interns will also provide technical subject matter expertise and field support for soldier exercises and DevOps engagements, install and maintain system components, provide guidance and training on system maintenance and operations, and develop documentation for maintenance support and troubleshooting procedures. Additionally, they will observe Army units to understand their networks, systems, and processes to improve software design and TTPs.
