Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • At least 2 years of customer service experience preferred
  • Previous experience in event planning, ideally a mix of profit & non-profit experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning all DSG-led events, including cost planning, ROI analysis, staffing coverage, internal and external communication, event day-of execution (setup to tear down), and ensuring 100% compliance with event waiver needs
  • Become an expert on all event space capabilities; provide information on configurations, capacities, and recommend effective setups based on availability
  • Work with Community & Events Manager to ensure events are within budget and identify efficiencies/cost savings
  • Create event documentation: Run of Show, Event Recaps, Emergency Information card, and Rental Agreements
  • Oversee event experience to ensure athletes have fun and participate safely
  • Lead and monitor reservations scheduling tool
  • Manage Field events: assist with hiring referees, equipment maintenance, field/ice rink maintenance (if applicable)
  • Coordinate event entertainment (music, guest speakers, etc.)
  • Maintain cleanliness/maintenance & equipment for store events
  • Build relationships with local schools, community organizations, sports leagues, home school organizations, and vendors for partnerships
  • Work with Community Team to bring clinics, camps, and afterschool programming to the store
  • Create sales opportunities for future events during client liaisons and events
  • Attend, monitor, and gather feedback from events for athlete satisfaction
  • Provide high-touch, innovative experience for seasonal programming
  • Maintain Field equipment and programmable spaces for cleanliness and proper use; remove snow from ice surface/areas (if applicable)
  • Work with store management on sales and operations support
  • Adjust priorities and manage time in a fast-paced environment; adhere to safety, loss prevention, SOPs, and external guidelines
  • Follow ice rink policies/procedures (if applicable); ensure proper operation of ice venue events, open skating, holiday promotions
  • Sharpen rental and athlete skates (if applicable)
  • Ensure events are staffed, communicated, and expectations set for teammate engagement
  • Assist with training teammates on procedures/programs, including new hire and cross-training
  • Train and mentor new hires with experience, knowledge, best practices, and timely feedback
  • Provide outstanding teammate training/coaching for store vision/experience
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
