Requirements

  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • At least one year of general housekeeping experience and one year of supervision and/or an acceptable equivalent combination of experiences
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, weekends, and on-call as needed

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, develops, directs, and participates in the overall operation of the housekeeping department to ensure a safe and aseptic environment is maintained
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and responds to specific issues and data reflective of the resident/customer's status
  • Assists with the collection and maintenance of records as needed by the Quality Assurance Department, OSHA guidelines, or as required by law
  • Works closely with leadership to keep updated and accurate logs, records, and certifications
  • Participates in staff assignments as needed to maintain efficiency within the Facility Services Department
  • Coordinates the scheduling process and maintains appropriate staffing levels to maximize department efficiency
  • Reviews department timecards, processes payroll, and approves or denies all department time-off requests in a timely manner
  • Works closely with leadership to ensure appropriate levels of supplies are maintained
  • Provides input for the development of the annual department budget (e.g., capital equipment needs)
  • Maintains clinical competence to serve as a resource to staff, including performing general housekeeping and maintenance duties, maintaining daily logs, responding to emergency overhead paging, and other department requests
  • Ensures changes in work (e.g., schedules, orientation, standard procedures, cross-training, equipment) are adhered to by staff
  • Works closely with other Department Heads to improve processes within the facility
