High School or GED Equivalent
At least one year of general housekeeping experience and one year of supervision and/or an acceptable equivalent combination of experiences
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, weekends, and on-call as needed

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, develops, directs, and participates in the overall operation of the housekeeping department to ensure a safe and aseptic environment is maintained
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and responds to specific issues and data reflective of the resident/customer's status
Assists with the collection and maintenance of records as needed by the Quality Assurance Department, OSHA guidelines, or as required by law
Works closely with leadership to keep updated and accurate logs, records, and certifications
Participates in staff assignments as needed to maintain efficiency within the Facility Services Department
Coordinates the scheduling process and maintains appropriate staffing levels to maximize department efficiency
Reviews department timecards, processes payroll, and approves or denies all department time-off requests in a timely manner
Works closely with leadership to ensure appropriate levels of supplies are maintained
Provides input for the development of the annual department budget (e.g., capital equipment needs)
Maintains clinical competence to serve as a resource to staff, including performing general housekeeping and maintenance duties, maintaining daily logs, responding to emergency overhead paging, and other department requests
Ensures changes in work (e.g., schedules, orientation, standard procedures, cross-training, equipment) are adhered to by staff
Works closely with other Department Heads to improve processes within the facility
