  • Effective communication skills, including tactful handling of difficult/sensitive information and reporting to leadership

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to improve current processes, transition new statements of work, represent Manufacturing Engineering (including planning), and NC Programming
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to internal processes and standards; develop and implement standards where necessary
  • Bring NC Programming, operations, and Manufacturing Engineering together on tool and fixture design
  • Review first part runs with Quality, Mfg Eng, Operations, and NC Programming to verify conforming parts and acceptable processes
  • Mentor and train new Manufacturing Engineers/Planners
  • Interface with customers to resolve engineering issues as needed
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues related to low profitability or excessive scrap as directed
  • Support estimating team on strategic bid packages for engineering design and producibility concerns
  • Provide shop support and guidance on first article builds for engineering compliance and process effectiveness
  • Provide planning, direction, and coordination for technical activities; monitor performance against estimates, budgets, and goals
  • Participate in developing organization and department goals/objectives
  • Develop and implement standards, work instructions, procedures, and policies for manufacturing in engineering and manufacturing departments (Process Standardization)
  • Recommend and implement process changes to improve cost, delivery, quality
  • Manage configuration control across customer part/specification revisions aligning with QFI controls
  • Handle Engineering Work Orders (EWO) for New Part Integration, Tooling
  • Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECO) for Part Number Roll/revision, Configuration Change, Value Engineering
  • Identify improvement opportunities, make suggestions, analyze information, evaluate results, and solve problems (Continuous Improvement)
  • Develop project schedules in MS Project, use project management tools, manage activities/decision processes for budget adherence (Project Management)
  • Report progress/projects weekly to Leadership Team; deliver presentations; communicate project information; motivate teams; mitigate conflicts (Leadership and Communications)
  • Other duties as assigned
