Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess 2+ years of experience in an engineering management role and 5+ years of experience building software at scale, demonstrating strong technical skills and a willingness to contribute to complex technical decisions. They should also have experience leading and managing full-stack engineers, including Staff+ engineers, and be accountable for maintaining and scaling the infrastructure owned by their team.

Responsibilities

As an Engineering Manager, you will define and evolve the technical vision & strategy for your team, effectively collaborate with cross-functional counterparts on strategy and execution, drive team execution against team-specific OKRs, lead and manage the team as a technical leader, hire, coach, and manage engineers, build and evolve a high-performing culture of excellence, and work closely with other engineering leaders to improve Thumbtack’s engineering culture.
