Place Exchange is transforming the OOH channel to be truly programmatic. They are building technology to reshape advertising and content in the physical world. This role seeks a hands-on Engineering Manager to collaborate with Product & Operations teams, focusing on connecting OOH assets with programmatic ad tech platforms. The ideal candidate will build and optimize engineering practices, manage and mentor a team, and contribute hands-on to product development, diving deep into the advertising and ad tech ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Experience: 7+ years of full-stack software engineering experience.
  • Technical Skills: Experience building and operating distributed systems at scale.
  • Leadership: 1+ years of experience leading teams and individuals.
  • Agile Practices: Proven ability to adopt a startup mindset, prioritizing speed and iteration.
  • DevOps: Strong capabilities in agile engineering practices and building DevOps culture.
  • Observation & Analysis: Nice-to-have: Proven ability to observe, analyze, and synthesize information effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Product Delivery & Technical Implementation (50%):
    • Work with Product and executive stakeholders to build market-leading products.
    • Implement product features, driving technical and quality practices.
    • Implement and/or build tools to improve Testing, Deployment, and Automation.
    • Develop and evangelize standards for coding, data, tooling, and operations.
  • Staff & Organizational Development (25%):
    • Recruit, retain, and grow outstanding engineering talent.
    • Proactively identify skill and experience needs, recruiting or developing staff.
    • Provide continuous feedback and support growth for each engineer.
  • Partner Management (25%):
    • Drive creation of appropriate technical documentation.
    • Drive processes for discovering, managing, and resolving issues and incidents.
    • Partner Evangelism, Integration, Testing, and Support.
