You will shape our infrastructure's interaction with development and build the foundation our development teams rely on for rapid, reliable product delivery. Your focus will be on instilling best practices for creating scalable, developer-friendly systems with an emphasis on self-service capabilities and intuitive interfaces.

About the Team

This team is focused on empowering developers with efficient and reliable tools and systems, blending operational excellence with software engineering principles and automation to enhance developer workflows. You will shape our infrastructure's interaction with development and build the foundation our development teams rely on for rapid, reliable product delivery. You'll instill best practices for creating scalable, developer-friendly systems with a focus on self-service capabilities and intuitive interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of engineers focused on developer enablement through recruiting, mentoring, and skill development.
• Build dashboards and metrics to monitor developer tool usage and identify areas for improvement.
• Drive the adoption of self-service infrastructure tools and documentation.
• Manage and improve the interaction between developers and infrastructure using technologies like Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Utilize a data-driven approach to understand developer pain points and prioritize improvements.
• Design, build, and maintain tools and services that enhance the developer experience with Angi's infrastructure.
• Plan and shape the future of developer tooling within Angi's infrastructure.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support developers with infrastructure-related issues.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, Information Systems, or a related IT field.
• 8+ years of experience as an engineer.
• Experience in a professional leadership role.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes and containerization technologies, with the ability to make these tools accessible and efficient for developers.
• Experience working with/building custom Kubernetes operators/controllers is highly preferred.
• Broad understanding of infrastructure and application stacks (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Golang programming, etc.) and their impact on the developer experience.
• Proven track record of automating tasks and improving developer workflows through tooling and integrations.
• Appreciation for software engineering best practices and advocacy for developer-centric solutions.
• Passion for developer productivity and simplifying complex infrastructure interactions.
• Understanding that enabling developers is the primary goal.
• Value excellent communication and remote-friendly working practices.
• Proficiency in choosing the right communication tools and tailoring communication to diverse technical audiences.
• Understanding of methodologies like Agile and Lean, with a belief in continuous improvement of developer workflows and tools.
