Requirements

Degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum
Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning
Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs
Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems
Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges
Understanding of the importance of remaining aware of shifting market priorities and ability to respond to internal and external customer needs
Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams, and address issues related to performance and conflicts
Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects
Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production
Ability to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office

Responsibilities

Managing staffing, development, and performance management programs for engineering teams; motivating and developing project and team leaders
Providing specialized engineering technical support and consulting services to various areas of the organization
Managing high-impact, short and long duration engineering initiatives and projects; ensuring achievement of engineering plan and product quality
Maintaining product release plans and material plans; driving programs to completion on time and within budget
