B.S. Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field from an ABET accredited program
Five years of engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing facility
Project Management Professional Certification (desired)
Responsibilities
Manage capital projects from initial submission through project completion and closure
Collaborate across multiple departments and Engineering disciplines
Develop budget estimates, obtain approvals for expenditure, request quotes for goods and services, track project expenses versus approvals, ensure project milestones are met, and have project deliverables ready for construction
Oversee contract engineering firms to ensure detailed mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, and structural designs in accordance with RAGAGEP, plant specifications, and improvements to plant safety
Review and approve engineered deliverables such as project scope, drawings, field instructions, calculations, or study recommendations, incorporating feedback from Maintenance and Production
Develop work descriptions and specifications, issue requests for quotes for outside vendors, review quotes, and determine the best option
Initiate procurement of goods and materials by working with the Purchasing department
Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing of hardware and software systems
Provide project deliverables to the capital construction group for contractor selection and field installation; inspect installed work, request field changes, and accept final product
Prepare project status, construction progress, and cost reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis
Assist in the development of the engineering team and provide mentorship to junior engineers; continue learning about changes in materials, equipment, and standards
Provide engineering services and technical knowledge for new or different processes, equipment, and materials to improve safety, production rates, quality, reliability, or operating costs
Be available after hours for consultation and/or call-out for plant problems or emergencies
Perform special projects as assigned
Perform duties to protect personal and site personnel safety, report safety/health/environmental incidents, and attend monthly safety meetings
