Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, and have at least 5 years of experience in energy modeling, building science, or a related area. Strong knowledge of building codes and standards, decarbonization strategies, energy-efficient technologies, and HVAC systems is required, along with familiarity with grid harmonization technologies, demand response, and distributed generation. Proficiency in data science techniques and programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Perl, or R is preferred.
As an Energy Engineer II, you will analyze zero-carbon and energy-efficient technologies within the context of energy policy, including developing product technical potential and feasibility, energy savings, cost-effectiveness, code compliance, and market barriers. You will perform building energy modeling using physics engines like EnergyPlus, applying statistical methods and data analysis to results, and contributing to the development of state and national energy codes and efficiency markets.
