Energy Solutions is seeking a full-time Energy Engineer II to join their Policy & Ratings team. This role focuses on supporting the development of building codes, product standards, and other policies through a data-driven analytical approach. The ideal candidate possesses knowledge of building science, decarbonization, energy-efficient technologies, energy codes and standards, and energy modeling. Experience with HVAC and industrial systems, grid harmonization technologies, demand response, and distributed generation is highly desirable. Proficiency in data science techniques and programming languages (Python, Ruby, Perl, or R) is a plus. This role offers the opportunity to impact state and national energy codes and markets through work with major utilities and government agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis of zero-carbon and energy efficient technologies within the context of energy policy, including product technical potential, feasibility, energy savings, cost-effectiveness, code compliance, and market barriers.
  • Performing building energy modeling using physics engines such as EnergyPlus and applying statistical methods and other post-processing analyses (including data analysis and scripting) to results.
