Requirements

Engineering modern apprenticeship/time served (e.g., City & Guilds/BTEC/NVQ Level 3)
Minimum HNC qualification in engineering
Proven and validated experience post-HNC
Multi-skilled (Electrical/Mechanical)
Experience in implementing change, process improvement, and cost reduction
Experience working in an ISO13485 certified environment
Pneumatic knowledge and experience (essential); PLC experience (ideal); Robotics and automation experience (desirable)
Proficiency in CMMS
Adhere to EHS policies and procedures
Capability to autonomously handle workload
Flexible approach to work and willingness to learn
Ability to work well alone and as part of a team
Embrace SCRUM methodology for planning/scheduling
Ability to prioritise and work under pressure with strict attention to timelines and details

Responsibilities

Perform PMs, calibrations, and servicing essential equipment
Oversee contractors, FSE, and service providers
Manage personal work requirements
Minimise downtime and enhance availability during automation breakdowns
Ensure safe utilisation of workshop tools
Maintain lab, manufacturing, and workshop equipment
Perform changeovers on key manufacturing tools
Mentor apprentice colleagues
Follow GDP standards
Participate in equipment changeovers
Lead PPI methodology
Maintain operational rigour
Show adaptive leadership
