Candidates typically require a university degree or equivalent experience in electronic system repair, along with 2-5 years of hands-on technical experience installing, solving, repairing, and calibrating complex analysis tools such as SEM, TEM, FIB, or similar systems. Experience solving and repairing ultra-high vacuum and high-voltage systems is highly desired, and proficiency in Windows software environments is necessary, alongside the ability to read and interpret schematics.
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for performing on-site installations, servicing, and repairs of various equipment and systems, investigating and approving the operational quality of system equipment, and instructing customers on the operation and maintenance of the system. They also serve as a company liaison with customers, conduct on-site installations, complete field service reports, provide training for customers and users, contribute to updating documentation, and provide recommendations for reports and problem isolation, while cultivating positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
