Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, or a related field, and have at least two years of relevant job experience. They should be proficient in standard Windows programs such as Excel and Word, demonstrate teamwork and collaboration skills across organizational boundaries, and possess the ability to communicate complex issues effectively through both written and verbal communication. An in-depth understanding of power plant equipment and systems, the ability to evaluate technical alternatives considering economic contributions, and systematic problem-solving processes are also required.
The Plant Support Engineer will protect the work week schedule by supporting the resolution of emergent and near-term engineering work, serving as the engineering point of contact for online work week schedule execution and resolving engineering holds. They will provide engineering support for the Operability process, conduct post-work testing, offer technical support for PROMPT Team Maintenance, and resolve operating challenges. Additionally, the role involves planning support for emergent questions, complex troubleshooting, preparing minor design modifications, identifying and performing tasks to meet objectives, leading interpretation and analysis of complex issues, coordinating projects, complying with safety policies, preparing reports, and participating in special projects and committees. The engineer will also perform electrical-specific tasks such as protective device sizing, cable sizing, and motor sizing/analysis, as well as all other duties as assigned.
