Requirements

Current university student pursuing a degree suitable for electronics engineering (undergraduate level)
Interest or basic knowledge in electronics design, including detailed circuit design, analogue and digital circuit test techniques, analysis and characterisation techniques
Ability to work full-time onsite in labs (Stevenage site)
Availability for 10 or 12 week summer placement starting June 2024
Preferably 2+ summer industrial placements for IET Eng Tech registration eligibility (not mandatory)

Responsibilities

Work with a small team of undergraduate summer placement students to plan, manage, design, and deliver a missile-related electronics project
Spend time in the lab building experimental hardware
Use schematic design tool (Zuken) for electronics design
Potentially write software and firmware
Potentially use modelling & simulation tools such as Matlab and Simulink
Develop skills in manufacturing (machining, PCB manufacture, circuit card assembly), test & evaluation of design
Collaborate with experienced engineers from multiple fields (mechanical, test systems, software, etc.)
Work independently, in focused electronics teams, and in dynamic multi-disciplinary teams
Occasionally travel to other MBDA sites
