Requirements

  • Currently studying towards a Degree in electronic engineering, general engineering (with electronics), or related subjects (maths or physics based)
  • Interest in electronic engineering, technology, and engineering in general

Responsibilities

  • Work on an actual missile project, contributing real work to a missile system
  • Spend the first part of the placement embedded in the Missile Design team, working on prime Missile Design
  • Spend the second part of the placement in the Test Systems team, focusing on designing test solutions
  • Gain exposure to complex circuit design (Analogue, Digital, FPGA etc.) for computers, safety related products, datalinks, ground/firing equipment etc
  • Learn analogue and digital circuit test techniques and circuit design
  • Learn microwave / RF test measurement techniques and design
  • Apply analysis and characterisation techniques
  • Engage in test system design and testability of a design
  • Spend time in the lab and office, gaining exposure to laboratory work, PCB Layout, Circuit Design & Simulations (using tools such as LTSpice & Zuken), test procedures, and task package management
  • Potentially travel to other MBDA sites in the UK and abroad
  • Have opportunities to support local schools in extra-curricular STEM activities, such as Robot Rumble
