Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ demonstrated experience in transmission line construction, maintenance or utilities industry
  • Previous exposure to working with overhead transmission hardware, crossarms, or similar electrical infrastructure
  • Experience working safely in high-risk construction environments
  • Ability to operate elevated work platforms, truck/tractor winches, and related site equipment
  • OH&S Construction Safety Induction White Card (or ability to obtain)
  • Current National Police Clearance
  • Ability to travel to other depots or worksites to complete project work as required
  • Highly Desirable: Advanced Rigging accreditation (High Risk Work Licence)
  • Highly Desirable: Cert II or III ESI Transmission
  • Highly Desirable: CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Highly Desirable: HRWL for EWP, Safe Working at Heights, Tower Rescue

Responsibilities

  • Support the safe and efficient installation, maintenance and repair of overhead transmission conductors and hardware
  • Undertake ground-based assembly of tools, equipment and components for installation
  • Perform tasks including cable pulling, lifting and positioning hardware
  • Act as a spotter for plant/equipment operations
  • Assist in site set-up, barricading, and safety checks
  • Carry out housekeeping and general labouring duties as directed
  • Maintain a safe work area and comply with project procedures at all times
