Requirements

  • Bachelor degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong background in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal skills (implied)
  • Performs quality work within deadlines without direct supervision
  • Interacts professionally with other employees and customers
  • Works effectively as a leader on all assigned projects
  • Demonstrates integrity and ethics in all client relationships and communications

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all engineering responsibilities and activities
  • Delegate engineering responsibilities and activities within the team
  • Lead the design and checking processes
  • Manage day-to-day activities of schedule and design
  • Directly train and direct Electrical Engineers (EEs) and Electrical Engineering Technicians (EETs)
  • Maintain design standards and training guidelines
  • Coordinate and problem-solve issues between design teams and departments
  • Answer technical questions from construction managers, field staff, project managers, customers, and representatives
  • Recognize and recommend methods to improve customer experience
  • Travel periodically to customer offices for project meetings and job sites for construction visits
  • Perform bi-yearly evaluations on all reporting employees
  • Coordinate employee PTO scheduling with the Manager of Electrical Engineering
  • Work with the Manager of Electrical Engineering to recruit, hire, and train new engineers
  • Provide input on organizational structure, employee performance, continuing education, employee development, and disciplinary actions
  • Enforce discipline policies with team members
  • Assure team members and self adhere to Beta core competencies and principles
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Electrical Engineer Manager
  • Supervise multiple Electrical Engineers and Electrical Engineering Technicians
  • Ensure team’s designs and applications comply with codes and standards set by authoritative bodies
