Requirements

  • Current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card
  • BS/BA Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical field
  • Maintenance/engineer experience in a chemical processing facility
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands to touch/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, talk/hear; occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch; lift/move up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, 50 pounds occasionally; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and healthful workplace through safety training, instruction of plant personnel and contractors, compliance with safety/environmental regulations, and good engineering practices
  • Provide a work environment promoting employee involvement by encouraging, recognizing, and supporting individual contributions and initiatives
  • Provide quality maintenance service meeting customer requirements, eliminating defects, maintaining operations to avoid breakdown maintenance, and ensuring plant/divisional production objectives are met
  • Ensure effective training and development of all assigned employees
  • Coordinate and direct maintenance efforts for remedial and preventive maintenance at prescribed levels and optimum cost, ensuring job performance and good labor relations
  • Direct workforce to perform work in the most efficient manner
  • Optimize maintenance efforts within specific area/group to attain safety/production goals, managing resources and directing remedial, preventive, and condition-based maintenance programs
  • Direct efforts of supervisors, planners, and engineers; supply job priorities; investigate/analyze breakdowns for corrective measures; recommend spare parts stocking
  • Work closely with operations supervisors to schedule maintenance, recommend work, and manage targeted maintenance/capital budgets
  • Work with production/maintenance personnel for compliance with maintenance programs, ensuring safe, reliable, efficient facility; integrate regulatory/code-compliant activities and develop new programs
  • Comply with all company policies/procedures
  • Support continuous improvement/operational excellence by reviewing areas for opportunities, initiating projects, communicating ideas, and participating on project teams
  • Perform any additional responsibilities/tasks as assigned
  • Perform duties protecting personal/others' safety; promptly report safety, health, or environmental issues/incidents to management
