Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience managing Elasticsearch in production environments
  • Deep understanding of Elasticsearch internals: shards, replicas, mappings, analyzers, and lifecycle policies, snapshot backup/restore
  • Strong proficiency in Bash or Python for scripting and automation
  • Proven experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and Ansible
  • Cloud expertise in either Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Responsibilities

  • Architect, deploy, and maintain large-scale Elasticsearch clusters in production
  • Optimize indexing, querying, and cluster performance for high-throughput workloads
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and configuration management with Ansible
  • Collaborate with DevOps and backend teams to integrate Elasticsearch into broader systems
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across cloud, network, and application layers
  • Document best practices, runbooks, and performance benchmarks
  • Participate in rotational on-call support to ensure 24/7 coverage for critical database systems
  • Collaborate with teams to gather and understand database requirements, contributing insights for architectural decisions
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems on cloud platforms, focusing on optimizing Google Cloud Platform services
  • Develop automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code solutions using Ansible, Terraform and Python to provision, configure, and manage database instances and clusters
  • Participate in version control processes to manage infrastructure code and configurations effectively
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevOps, databases, cloud computing, and Python programming
