Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (e.g. environmental or safety management, engineering, or science)
  • 1-3 years of experience in managing Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics risks in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), Pharmaceutical or related high-hazard sector
  • Membership of a relevant and internationally recognized professional organisation (e.g. IOSH, IChemE)
  • Preferred: Certified/Registered Industrial Hygienist with an international certification

Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement, manage, and continuously improve the environment, health, and safety programmes for the facility
  • Implement Haleon’s Industrial Hygiene strategic objectives & targets and manage related programmes
  • Act as the Chemical Agent Subject Matter Expert (CA SME), leading programmes to reduce chemical exposure risks and ensure compliance with the Haleon Chemical Agent Standard, related Technical Support Documents, and local statutory requirements
  • Provide guidance in managing budgets to support outside services and operating expenses
  • Engage in strategic EHS planning and tactical role for site-wide EHS systems, EHS regulations, and best practices
  • Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of employees on site; act as CA SME and potentially Ergonomics SME, providing guidance to management, project teams, and employees
  • Help create a clean, comfortable work environment free from distractions (e.g. noise) to optimize employee performance
  • Establish programmes to identify and assess workplace exposure risks, such as chemical agents (dust, solvent, asbestos) and physical agents (noise, vibration, laser)
  • Develop strategies and programmes to manage exposures at source as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP), prioritizing engineering and administrative controls over PPE
  • Collaborate with other professionals to develop engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE strategies to manage exposure risks
