Responsibilities

Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports
Safely operate the heavy truck along the designated route and to the disposal site, following route sheets, maps, and servicing customers as assigned
Operate manual and/or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, operate the compactor, and dispose of collected material at the designated facility
Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely and professional service
Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them according to departmental procedures
Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste
Clean area around accidental waste spills, adhering to all safety standards and policies
Monitor vehicle condition to minimize downtime and clean waste from the packer blade and truck body (where appropriate) on each disposal trip
Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs, and other reports
Maintain adherence to productivity standards to ensure timely and efficient customer service
Follow all required safety policies and procedures
Actively participate in the Company’s ReSOP program
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
