Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States full-time, as Lilly will not provide work authorization or visa sponsorship. Proficiency in Outlook, Internet Explorer, MS Office programs, legal software, or docketing programs like Anaqua is required. Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, managing a large IP portfolio in a fast-paced setting, and understanding docketing best practices are preferred. Familiarity with formality documents, US, EP, and PCT patent rules, and electronic research tools is also beneficial.
The Docketing Associate will proactively manage patent and trademark dockets throughout their lifecycle, including prosecution, filing, and maintenance. This role involves coordinating with internal and external legal professionals to ensure seamless operations and improve departmental best practices. Responsibilities include anticipating and researching complex issues, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and producing reliable work product. The associate will integrate with peers and business units, communicate support needs, and lead small projects or guide complex patent/trademark activities. They will also assess the impact of industry changes on departmental strategies and manage priorities effectively, interacting with various stakeholders including inventors, clients, and international law firms.
