Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education; must possess a high school diploma
3-5 years experience with multiple functions within the distribution center, including Inbound (receiving), Production, Packing, and Shipping Departments
“Big Box” experience leading in a large distribution center
Leadership and supervisory skills to lead, coach, and motivate a large group of employees
Excellent social skills to relate well to employees, peers, various levels of management
Strong customer orientation to develop strong relationships with customers
Ability to read and write in English
Role model leader with ability to lead with Thermo Fisher values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement
Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
Able to stand for full shift in warehouse environment; some degree of PPE required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)

Responsibilities

Train and direct assigned distribution center department to perform jobs according to standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
Organize staff and workload to meet or exceed distribution productivity performance standards for Receiving, Put Away, Packing, Shipping, or Inventory Control
Develop daily work schedules based on workload demands
Coordinate all warehouse activities to provide smooth and efficient flow of work
Provide leadership to team members, delivering timely solutions to customer needs
Participate in candidate selection
Train, evaluate, recommend, and deliver disciplinary action for issues such as attendance, performance, safety, or policy violation
Conduct yearly performance reviews and feedback sessions with employees to discuss metrics and performance issues
Supervise staff consistent with company culture and values (Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, Involvement) and open communication
Actively seek development opportunities for team members
Recommend and develop ideas for improvement in operating methods, procedures, warehouse layout, workflow, operating costs, and customer service for management approval
