We are seeking a Distinguished Software Architect to co-design our next-generation data center platforms, focusing on GPU communication libraries critical for scaling Deep Learning and HPC applications. This role offers an opportunity to push the boundaries of technology and create unprecedented platforms.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Research and design new features for communication libraries, potentially expanding the GPUDirect technology portfolio.
  • Propose and co-design hardware and software solutions for next-generation platforms with GPU, Networking, and Software architects.
  • Ensure seamless integration of new solutions with existing software stacks.
  • Drive the adoption of new communication technologies across various application verticals.
  • Stay current with the latest Deep Learning research and collaborate with internal and external teams, including researchers and customers.
  • Inspire changes based on quantitative data from proof-of-concepts or detailed technical analysis and modeling.

What We Need to See

  • PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in academia or industry.
  • Expertise in:
    • High-Performance Computing (HPC)
    • Parallel programming models (MPI, SHMEM)
    • At least one communication runtime (MPI, NCCL, NVSHMEM, OpenSHMEM, UCX, UCC)
    • Computer and system architecture
    • GPU architecture and CUDA
  • Deep understanding of high-performance networking, including:
    • Network technologies (InfiniBand, Ethernet)
    • Network design
    • Network topologies
    • Network debugging and performance analysis
  • Strong skills in at least a few of the following areas:
    • ML/DL fundamentals and their relation to communications
    • Parallel algorithms
    • Fault tolerance and resiliency
    • Competitive assessments
    • Performance analysis and optimization for parallel applications on large clusters
    • Developing applications using DL Frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
  • Programming fluency in C or C++ for systems software development.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively across different hardware/software teams and time zones.

Ways to Stand Out

  • Recognized industry leader in HPC/DL communications with a history of patents, publications, and conference presentations/keynotes.
  • Significant contributions to industry standards (e.g., MPI, OpenSHMEM) and open-source software (e.g., PyTorch, UCX, Open MPI).
