Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent
  • Minimum one year of transportation or logistics experience
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent telephone and customer service ability
  • Math, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills with good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Problem solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, drive vehicle, sit, lift/carry up to 50 lbs, push/pull, climb/balance, stoop/squat, kneel, bend, reach above shoulder, twist, grasp/manipulate objects, and manual dexterity (various frequencies from occasional to frequent)
  • Ability to work in office and warehouse environments including cooler/freezer areas as low as -5 degrees

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate driver activities and shuttle assignments to resolve service issues and minimize overtime, downtime, and hours of service violations
  • Complete attendance trackers and verify that drivers are using Omnitracs properly
  • Ensure customer needs are met promptly and professionally; escalate issues (late dispatch, breakdown, service failures) to managers and sales force
  • Reassign routes as needed to solve service issues and ensure drivers log in and utilize Proof of Delivery scanner
  • Coordinate trailer, tractor, and backhaul assignments to support efficient logistics operations
  • Visually inspect each driver’s appearance to verify proper uniform and required PPE
  • Notify manager/supervisor and safety specialist in event of vehicle accident or driver injury
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
