Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum one year of transportation or logistics experience
  • Working knowledge of DOT Hours of Service and driver logs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work under pressure
  • Previous dispatcher experience preferred
  • Familiarity with the geographic delivery area is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate driver activities and shuttle assignments
  • Minimize hours of service violations and reduce downtime
  • Ensure drivers are using Omnitracs and POD scanners correctly
  • Reassign routes and assign backhauls efficiently
  • Manage trailer, tractor, and yard equipment assignments
  • Notify supervisors and safety specialists in the event of accidents or injuries
  • Verify PPE and proper uniform compliance for drivers
  • Communicate with operations and sales regarding service issues
  • Maintain attendance reports and documentation
  • Distribute intercompany mail and complete other assigned duties
