Requirements

  • Passion for late-stage venture and growth equity investments into technology companies creating durable businesses
  • Experience leading or supporting all aspects of deals, including origination, screening, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, and portfolio management
  • Ability to develop investment theses leveraging personal strengths and TVG’s platform
  • Strong leadership skills to manage and develop investment talent within a strengths-based cultural framework
  • Expertise in leading deal negotiations, execution of agreements, and legal documents
  • Capability to prepare investment memorandums across all deal lifecycle stages
  • Proficiency in presenting investment recommendations to internal committees
  • Experience in post-investment value creation, including working with management teams and potentially serving as Board Director or Observer
  • Knowledge of internal portfolio support processes, such as valuations, reports, and risk modeling
  • Skills in talent recruitment, retention, and development, including building core technical skills and transaction exposure
  • Ability to contribute to broader OTPP initiatives and share insights across the organization
  • Strong relationship management and partnership-building with global investors, entrepreneurs, VC/growth equity service providers, and the global TVG team
  • Expertise in developing and refining long-term investment theses and strategies for private company portfolios
  • Proficiency in leading critical diligence and research streams, considering valuation implications for companies and industries
  • Willingness to be based in San Francisco and collaborate across global TVG team, OTPP departments, and investment teams

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support all aspects of deals from origination, screening, and due diligence to structuring, negotiation, and active portfolio management
  • Develop investment theses capitalizing on strengths and TVG’s platform
  • Manage and develop investment talent within a strengths-based cultural framework
  • Lead deal negotiations and execution of agreements and legal documents
  • Lead and contribute to preparation of investment memorandums across deal lifecycle stages
  • Present investment recommendations to internal committees
  • Drive post-investment value creation by working with management teams, partners, and others, including as Board Director or Observer
  • Deliver internal portfolio support, including semi-annual valuations, reports, and risk modeling
  • Support talent recruitment, retention, and development, ensuring core skills and transaction exposure
  • Contribute to OTPP initiatives defined by TVG senior leadership to share insights and relationships
  • Build partnerships globally with investors, entrepreneurs, and VC/growth equity service providers
  • Partner and collaborate with the global TVG team for fund success
  • Develop and refine long-term investment theses and strategies for exceptional returns
  • Lead critical diligence and research streams, analyzing company and industry valuation implications
