Candidates must have over 15 years of experience in communications or brand roles, with at least 10 years leading social and community strategy at digital-first companies or in high-growth environments. Deep expertise in platform best practices (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, X, LinkedIn, etc.) and social listening/analytics tools is required. A proven track record of creating culturally relevant content and campaigns that grow engaged communities, strong storytelling instincts, and the ability to combine strategic vision with hands-on execution are essential. A collaborative, influential, and data-driven approach is also necessary.
The Director, Social & Community will own and execute Affirm’s social media strategy, ensuring cultural relevance and business impact. This includes developing a proactive content program to amplify narratives, spotlight earned media, and engage the community with humanity and creativity. Responsibilities also involve fostering dialogue, responding in real-time, maintaining a timely and culturally relevant voice, pushing creative boundaries by identifying trends and testing new formats, and integrating social-first thinking across Communications, Brand, and Partner Marketing. Continuous optimization through insights to refine content, grow reach and engagement, and deepen audience connections is also a key part of the role.
